So,be perfect vegetarian Deepa,so such things’ll not reach onto yr dinner plate.Yesterday I gone through a very very good article[perhaps from ’wordspark’ on vegetarianism on INSTABLOGS and now I’ve decided to campaign for Vegetarianism,like you are doing for..oh Deepa an Environmentalist fm yr article..

hmmm.. I have seen the entire Juhu beach (Mumbai) filled with plastic bags washed ashore by high tide. The sight was shocking.. just imaging the entire beach covered by plastic bags.. you can’t see an ounce of sand anywhere.

And the amount of trouble and danger it is for the marine life can be very easily well imagined.

This is a global issue as the scenario is the same on every part of the world. What hurts me is that we clean our dens and land and throw the garbage in the water bodies not realizing the damage it causes to the marine life. Can you visualize what will happen if the whole marine life gangs up against us humans and throws out all the trash back on our land! We wont have an inch to stand.

Hi Deepa,

What you have put across in simple words actually needs to be dramatized, becoz we humans don’t get things when put across simply. like the deluge in July a couple of years ago would not have been an issue, if we had taken care to dispose our wastes carefully. Still many of us have not learnt a lesson. If we had, then our streets would have been cleaner.

While some plastics end up in landfills, most gets dumped into oceans and seas via the drainages... Its back to the discussions we have had earlier... the menace of plastic.

And the problem is plastics are so economical and easy to handle, it will be difficult to completely do away with them and till they are around, they will continue to be nuisance on land and in sea... its like a vicious circle that seems to have no end :(

Exactly if people can understand the concept of recycling, the speed at which our landfills rise can reduce. Also the seas can boast of more marine life and less plastic stuff.
