Get it straight - NO FORM OF TOBACCO IS SAFE!!! NOT CIGARETTES, NOT CIGARS, NOT CHEWING TOBACCO OR PIPES. THEY ARE ALL DANGEROUS BECAUSE THEY ALL CONTAIN CHEMICALS THAT KILL!!!!

We’ve been having the Anti-Tobacco day for quite a while now. I hope that this year’s anti-tobacco day focuses on the plight of passive smokers too as passive smokers are more affected by the second hand smoke. Smokers may do so but not at the risk of innocent people contracting all the dreaded diseases that tobacco brings with it.

I agree with Jay. having schoolkids take out rallies and raise slogans to mark the no-tobacco day hasnt gotten us anywhere so far and it wont in the future either. Public smoking bans, on the other hand, really work. The Mall in Shimla is a smoke-free zone and you can land youself a hefty fine if you dare light up there. Of course it will take some serious vigilance to get the ban effectively working in all public places but its a great start.

It;s not so much about a day than leaving it for good that is sure to do the trick, for something as deadly as tobacco one shd commit years like UN does for it than just a day. Suppose if a person leaves it for this one day, which is highly unlikely too, what good will come out of it?
