Desktops are evolving from a simple cabinet, monitor, keyboard, mouse unit to more attractive designs.
As you rightly pointed out, they may not be a good idea as a laptop replacement nor will it make any difference in processing power or usability, but its just the cosmetic changes that may appeal to people... May be for high end stores, hotels etc where showing off is important...

Deepa, you had mentioned it absolutely right. Thou I won’t deny that these ’face lift’ do make them look good, but thats where it ends... And of course they cost lot more than regular desktops or laptops of similar config...
Its like getting an expensive ”nose job” done where only the shape of nose changes, nothing else :)
